GETTING BACK TO NORMAL-ISH
Our country is going through a challenging time and priorities are being reassessed daily.
As a community, Coronado continues to put its best foot forward with support coming from local leaders and the residents themselves.
As we move out of our Covid-affected lockdown and focus on safely reopening the businesses and activities that make Coronado so special, we also hear the voices crying out across the nation and focus our attention on what’s needed and show solidarity for those hurting.
The community is excited about restaurants, shops and our public spaces getting back in the game!
Restaurants are again allowing dine-in, shops are allowed to have customers in their stores, the beach is reopened for passive activities, the tennis courts are back in swing and even our beloved lawn bowling has returned!
All with safe social-distancing protocols being followed closely.
In a prudent move, the City Council agreed to waive Coronado’s parking code requirements to allow local restaurants to temporarily serve dining patrons in parking lots, on a sidewalk, within an on-site outdoor space or other open areas near their restaurants. That’s so cool since outdoor dining is the best kind of dining!
The Mayor and City Council has done a great job making decisions based on the ever-changing data and have been leaders in the County of San Diego’s efforts to move into phases that allow more local businesses could be safely reopened and youth activities could also resume.
