It’s National Golden Retriever Day! I celebrated with Buffy at Coronado’s Dog Beach this morning!
Did you know that Golden Retrievers have webbed toes? That explains why Buffy loves to go diving into the water after her ball.
Their webbed feet help them swim, acting almost like flippers . The “toes” on their paws are connected by thin webs of skin. This helps Goldens move through the water easily and efficiently.

We had so much fun kayaking around Glorietta Bay this morning!
What a treat that the City of Coronado has a boathouse facility located right at the south end of Glorietta Bay Park that offers kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and rowing shells for rent. It’s literally like living in a resort when you’re a resident here!

My friend, Luke is having a blast at Blue Wave Surf Camp this week!
Blue Wave is a new surfing camp being offered this summer through the Recreation Department of the City of Coronado.
The camp is offered weekly throughout the summer, Monday thru Friday and is geared towards kids aged 6-18 with special attention given to novice surfers. The camp includes surfing instruction for all levels and many ocean activities such as bodysurfing, snorkeling, offshore paddling and the kids also learn about marine biology, oceanography, and beach safety.
