Pretty Place, a home decor and upscale souvenir/gift shop has opened just behind The Henry on Orange Ave!
The shop is filled with customized Coronado and San Diego apparel, candles and a variety of gifts. They can also engrave items like tumblers and cutting boards for a personalized touch.
It’s a fun store filled with tons of great gift ideas!

The Trident Coffee “Coronado Taproom & Keto Bakery” is now open on Orange Ave.!
As the name suggests, they are a first of their kind, cold brew coffee taproom and keto bakery with nitro cold brew coffees on tap and fresh-baked keto treats. Conveniently, they also have cans available to-go!

Today is the 19th Annual Creek to Bay Cleanup and I’m proud to say that Coronado gets into this event in a big way!
This is the largest environmental cleanup in San Diego County during Earth Week! Last year, volunteers self-reported 15,682 total pounds of litter removed in one day and the goal this year is to remove 30,000 pounds of litter in a single day.
You can join the efforts by cleaning up litter and pollution in your neighborhood. Start by registering at https://creektobay.org/ then choose a block, a park, beach, canyon or neighborhood near you to help clean. You just need a bucket, gloves and some kind of litter grabber.
Coronado is Calling…
Coronado Beach Company – Island Tours & Beach Café is tucked away in the beautiful courtyard of El Cordova Plaza. They specialize in guided walking tours of the island but also stock some really cool Coronado souvenirs and art with snacks, great coffee and even fresh donuts!
The tour takes about an hour and covers Coronado’s rich history and culture. I’m certain the “Coronado is Calling” headquarters will be a featured stop very soon.

I ran across this cool mural at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and after a little research I found out that Coronado School of the Arts student Austin Lim created it.
I’ve always dug the “Good News of Great Joy for All People” Christmas message but it’s definitely something that hits home these days.
This is just another great example of the beautiful art you can find all over the community!

SPRING HAS SPRUNG…
April showers bring May flowers! Unless you’re in Coronado, where it’s forecasted to be 84 degrees and sunny on April 1st.
This month we’ve got restrictions being lifted slowly and vaccinations being distributed quick as a bunny.
Speaking of, Coronado’s annual Easter Egg-stravaganza this year will be a drive-thru event held on April 3rd in the parking lot just north of City Hall (1825 Strand Way).
Participants will enjoy a roll-through Bunny Bakery and receive some sweet treats, then take an adventure through a life-size Candyland game where everyone is a winner and finally, make a stop at Bunny Boulevard where bunny helpers will hand out an egg-hunt-to-go kit and a professional photographer will snap your photo with the Easter Bunny!
Reservations are required to attend this FREE drive-thru event on April 3 between 11am and 3pm. Contact the Coronado Community Center at (619) 522-7342 to book and please leave a message if no answer.
Also, numerous Coronado restaurants will have limited indoor and plenty of outdoor seating for Easter Sunday brunch, lunch and dinner. It will be a beautiful day to be on the Island.
Last month, a town hall was held to discuss a renovation of the Coronado Public Library’s Winn Room after the City Council previously authorized a contract with M.W. Steele group to work with staff to explore expanding the Winn Room.
The room offers a wide range of free cultural programs but is aging, has poor acoustics and sight-lines and limited capacity which has previously hindered the presentation of certain events so we now have an opportunity to turn it into a state-of-the-art auditorium capable of serving the needs of the community for the next 50 to 75 years.
