A Coronado Holiday Tradition That Never Gets Old 🎄✨

One of those moments that perfectly captures why we feel so lucky to call Coronado home.

We bundled up, found our spot along the parade route, and joined hundreds of neighbors for the Coronado Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting. A cherished tradition that officially kicks off the holiday season on the island. From the first marching band to the final wave from Santa himself, the evening was filled with smiles, laughter, and that unmistakable small-town holiday magic.

One of our favorite moments? Hearing Ollie enthusiastically wish “Merry Christmas!” to parade passersby. Watching her excitement, wide-eyed, waving, and soaking it all in, was a reminder of how special these traditions are, especially through the eyes of a child. It’s those little moments that stay with you long after the lights come down and the cocoa cups are empty.

The parade itself was everything we love about Coronado: local schools, community groups, first responders, creative floats, festive costumes, and familiar faces everywhere you looked. It felt less like an event and more like a giant neighborhood gathering. The kind where you’re constantly waving, stopping to chat, and running into friends you didn’t expect to see.

And then there’s the tree lighting! A simple moment, but one that somehow manages to feel magical every single year. As the tree lit up and the crowd cheered, it was impossible not to feel grateful.
